
A breath moved along a riverbank and found a stone, resting half-buried in the soil and partially immersed in water.
“Why do you sit so close to the ground?” asked The Breath.
The Stone was silent for a time, then answered, “I listen for what lies beneath, but all I hear is that which is above.”
The Breath whispered, “Stop Listening.”
The stone felt this, grew quiet, and remained, as The Gentle Water smoothed it’s surface.
