PURPOSE

I seek meaningful questions to challenge my notion of what is foundational.

I focus on providing an analysis of given topical matters via the lens of a skeptic possessing a background in science, art, and theology.

Original Statement of Purpose

Many have turned to Science to resolve issues of Faith.

Yet Science does nothing to assuage existential fears, nor does it pretend to even try to address them; nonetheless many so-called “Rational Thinkers” refer to these exemplar scholars when offering a paradigm on how one should model solutions to questions around Meaning. It is quite literally referring to individuals expressly unconcerned with The matter of interest as paragons of the concerning matter of interest. Absurdity at its finest.

To seemingly make matters worst: Present-day religious institutions have not adapted to guide modern mystics in facing the more nuanced and sophisticated ethical and spiritual questions precipitated by our collective modern lifestyles.

And now here we find ourselves… wanting, searching, and waiting.
Some of us observing our lives while neglecting to participate in them, and others of us not helping them.

Given a conscious yearning for Life (and consequentially living) in the face of the inevitability of Death, one would think that curiosity around intrinsic meaning would be better addressed by subject areas that actually concern themselves with such matters, like Theosophy and Philosophical Mysticism.

I endeavor in this column to discover (and possibly uncover) useful ideas to assist in interpreting life via reviews and surveys of ArtScience, and Culture. My interests, as it pertains to these areas, primarily reside in works of Modern Abstract ArtScience FictionFantasyCosmologyInformation TheoryProgressive Rock Music, and experimental Neo-classical Music — A wide range of topics where I find many attempting to bring intuition in harmony with our perceptions of The Physical.

The sensibilities I utilize to discuss Works may not be immediately apparent for a casual reader of my work.
